I’m writing up the trip report now, a great backpack with only one day misted out and even that was full of local interest.

I had mixed results with my foot:- perplexing but generally good. The Nurofen gel is just an external method of applying the NSAID ibuprofen locally, it should be as effective as oral tablets. It obviously isn’t as convenient in most cases though, and you must wash your hands immediately after application.

Well… there will be some temptation in the photos this time I think!. One day we had a superb tent pitch above Loch Etchachan and the last day we saw a splendid inversion and distant views from Cairn Gorm summit.

Thanks very much. The recovery might be delayed a bit but I’ll gladly tolerate that for a fine trip like this.

Hi Geoff,

Glad to here you are getting there. Sometimes getting on and doing the things you crave can aid recovery - perhaps more of a placebo effect though?!!

Cairngorms again then - wowser, you’re not messing around! Have a good one the pair of you and look forward to the report and photos as usual.

P.S. Do you think the Ibuprofen gel would work on my recurring knee pain - temporarily of course!

It should be good, even if the conditions aren’t perfect like the trip earlier this year.
I’m taking a tube of the Ibuprofen gel that the physio recommended in case the real pain starts, better to rub it in locally than take it orally.

Should make for some stunning pictures.

It’s a few years since I was last up in Scotland, now where else like it!

I’m sure Vivien will love it up on the Cairn.

Two of us in the wars then, I hope the Snowdonia trip goes well without pain.
The prediction is for several days of settled weather, so it’s a return trip to the Cairngorms so that Vivien can see them for the first time.

Hi,

looking like a nice spell of weather for the next few days.
Get out there and make the most of it.

I’m off to Snowdonia first thing in the morning for a 3 day high level backpack, can’t wait.
It’s only my third trip out this year because of a recurring back problem so know how frustrating it is when you can’t get out and do it.

Take it easy you’ll be fine.
