Martin,
I know there is much to be said for MACs, especially for image work, but many disadvantages for me with so many years invested in Windows knowledge. I've heard about BootCamp to run Windows stuff but it's not really the same.

It will probably be a while before I look for the cave, if at all - I can't imagine being sufficiently motivated to make the detour.

Not a Mac fan hey, PC man to and like your handy work. I've built the odd rig in my time but converted to laptops a couple years ago, does the job and that is what matters. I'm sure you will catch up for lost blogging time.

P.S found that cave yet?

Thanks Phil.
The box shifters ship some pretty good low priced systems these days, but I always prefer to select my own components. That Wolfdale chip doesn't half shift, especially with the increased RAM to benefit apps like Photoshop.

Hello Geoff
Welcome back! It can be quite rewarding building your own PC, though I do wonder about the economics versus volume manufacturers. Though at least you get exactly what you want. My last 2 have been self built, the last one, a couple of years ago using an Antec Aria case - beautiful!
