Fresh, germ-free drinking water - for anyone anytime The Mini Filter is a practical, handy unit for turning water of dubious quality into clear, germfree drinking water. A filter element made from patented Katadyn ceramic retains the pathogens of dangerous diseases, such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery, colibacillosis, amoebic dysentery, etc. Even the chemically resistant giardia is filtered out.
Simply use the integral pump to force the water through minute pores. These pores are so small (0.2 microns - 0.0002 mm), that any worm eggs, protozoa, in particular bacteria and even spores cannot pass through the filter, but stick to the outer surface of the ceramic. Katadyn silver is firmly incorporated in the ceramic preventing bacteria from penetrating the inside of the filter element. Silver interferes with the supply of nutrient to the bacterial cell, thus, depriving it of one of its most important basics of life (part of the oligodynamic silver ion principle). Subsequently, the bacterium dies.
No agents or additives needed. Disinfection by using the Mini Filter is a single, mechanical process. No additional filtering stages or any pre- or post-treatment agents are required.
Easy maintenance:-
Once in place the element can be regenerated over and over again - up to 100 times - by simply brushing the wet ceramic surface clean. When worn out, it is simply replaced by a new element. The same -unit disinfects and filters up to 7,000 litres of water, depending on the contamination of the raw water and the number of cleanings required. All operating components are accommodated in the casing: at the top, the abrasive brush with a control gauge for checking minimum diameter of the filter element. The intake hose fits into the base of the casing.
